Project Drivers :

The client’s brief was to create the city's public Library of Gwangju. With Learning and Content creation spaces as key drivers, the library is set to become cultural beacon for the future of Gwangju.

Our Approach :

The library is designed as a mixture of traditional reading rooms and group study spaces. It includes a triple-height main atrium with a series of indoor balconies allowing interior and exterior views.

The interior balconies are more calm areas, positioned to be quiet and relaxed allowing reading and studying while having a clear view of the whole Library. Forward thinking learning environment “MAKER SPACES” with 3D printing workshops and Multimedia Rooms are the drivers of the Library of the Future.
